Tall Over Low: The tallest headboard here sits on the lower base, so more of the panel stays in view.
Soft-Filled Panel: The face is filled rather than pulled taut, so it gives when you lean back.
Curved Top Edge: The upper edge dips slightly at the centre and lifts toward the sides.
Mattress Stays Seated: A shallow well in the deck holds the mattress against the headboard.
Whole-Bed Storage: Lifting the platform opens the full area under the mattress in one move.
Locking Lift: The struts hold their position, so the platform will not drop while you reach in.
Finished Interior: Board lining covers the compartment surfaces rather than leaving frame exposed.

About Mercer Storage Bed with Dion Base

Pairing the tallest headboard with the shorter base is the most dramatic combination in the range, because the drop from the top of the panel to the top of the mattress is greater than anywhere else. The practical effect is that pillows do not swallow the design, and the recessed deck stops the mattress creeping forward and opening a gap behind them. It suits a bedroom with real ceiling height, in an older home or a newer build with nine-foot walls. It is also the easiest of the six to get in and out of, which matters more with every passing year.

Styling Tip: Use two large square pillows rather than a row of small ones, so the filled panel stays visible above them.
